Over 190 miles of underground ductbank was used on this 8.5 million square foot site. The development of Berths 302-305 for the Port of Los Angeles and their tenant, American President Container Lines is one the largest container terminals on the West Coast. The facility is the equivalent of over 380 football fields and encompasses over eight and half million square feet.
Phase I work included two new D.W.P. main power stations, nine sub-stations, a complete power, telephone, and data backbone systems. Fifty high masts, 100-foot lighting poles/fixtures, provide all general lighting for the site. Included in the secondary distribution were 180 refer bunkers for cold storage containers and 5,000 volt distribution was set up for 12 ship-to-shore rail mounted gantry cranes and 10 train yard gantry cranes.
