Project Description:
After months of lawsuits, injunctions and demonstrations, California Corridor Constructors (Kiewit-Granite Joint Venture) cut a new path through Orange County that connects the South County to the Newport/Irvine Airport area.
Dynalectric's involvement on this 18-mile toll road included design-build-assist on all aspects including the Corridor Operating System C.O.S., counting stations, tollbooths, ramp metering, CCTV and toll plaza.
New electrical work included 500 roadway lights, 35 traffic intersections/signals and 15 miles of backbone system for the C.O.S. that will control over 100,000 cars per day in the future.
