Electrical Construction & ATSAC System Installation Services

City of Los Angeles

Project Duration
12 months

Electrical & Traffic Systems Services Project Description:

The electrical construction project consisted of installation of the automated traffic surveillance and control (ATSAC) and advanced train control system (ATCS) to upgrade the existing thirty-six signalized intersections, in the communities of Westchester and Playa del Ray. The project is approximately bounded by Jefferson Boulevard on the north, Imperial Highway on the south, Vista Del Mar on the east, and La Cienega Boulevard on the west. ATSAC/ACTS allows the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) to monitor and control traffic flow by changing traffic light signal timing sequences based on traffic conditions to alleviate congestion. Dynalectric L.A. was involved in the modification of 35 intersections. Electrical construction services included installation of communication equipment and conduits, cables, and fiber optic cables and installation of nine changeable message signs, as well as street lighting upgrades in various locations in project.
